Slovenia - Estonia - Slovenia

Today when I was using Igor's computer, I noticed how many great pictures we had done with our phones on our trip to visit Estonia (this year's March). So I took some time, sorted out my favorite ones, did some editing and here they are - from beginning to end, Slovenia-Estonia-Slovenia.

3. Esimesel ööl nägime teel rekkat, mille tagatuledest moodustus smaili. 4. Hommik autos - oi kuidas tahtsin pissile ja jalgu sirutada :D

1. Loads of energy drink for the road. 2. Such a pretty view on mountains when we started our journey from Ljubljana. 3. First night we saw a truck who had smiley on back. 4. Morning in car - gosh how I wanted to pee and strech my legs, but we didn't stop not to wake up girls. :)

1. Minu säravad reisikaaslased hommikul kell 7 Poola mäki juures. 2. Ilm oli hea ja teed oli rekkaid täis nagu ikka, jätkuvalt Poolas. 3. Kui järgmisel korral Eestisse sõita, on lootust olla põhiliselt kiirteel, hetkel veel ehituse all. 4. Poola sai lõpuks otsa ja nüüd kõigest Leedu ja Läti jäänud.

1. My wonderful travel companions at 7 o'clock in the morning in Poland, our first longer stop at McDonald's. 2. The weather was good and roads full of trucks, still in Poland. 3. Next time going to Estonia we might have better luck to be on highway more. 4. Bye bye Poland, it's just Lithuania and Latvia left.

1. 2000 km läbitud ja me olime Eestis! 2. Kaunis päikeseloojang. 3. Juba järgmisel päeval peale Eestisse jõudmist, ootas meid ees fotosessioon Raili Adosoni juures. Anne Mai harjutab stuudios kitarriga poseerimist :) 4. Eriti särav Annelinn, hakkas ka mingit jama taevast sadama.

1. 2000 km behind us and we made it to Estonia! 2. Beautiful sunset. 3. Already next day we had a photosession at Raili Adoson. Anne Mai is practising how to pose with a guitar :) 4. Ugh, it started to snow..

1. Igor leidis sellise toreda joogipoolise poest :) 2. Kui mina läksin sõbrannadega lobisema, sai Igor linnaloa ja selline tore graffiti leidis teda. 3. ja 4. Igor Toomemäge avastamas.

1. Igor found this drink from estonian store (half liter of rum-cola). 2. Graffiti from wall somewhere in Tartu. 3. and 4. Igor discovering city of Tartu and Toome Hill.

1. Rääkisin Igorile, kuidas olen sealt sillalt mõned korrad üle kõndinud ja ta pidi krambid saama :D 2. Tõestus, et ikka olime Eestis :) 3. Igori arvates PARIM söök, mida ta on elus saanud ehk siis šašlõki praad Fastersist. 4. Minu arvates parimad koogid terve maailma peale - Nöhk ja Britta.

1. Told Igor how I have walked over that bridge few times and he almost got cramps. 2. Proof that we were in Estonia :) 3. Igor thinks this is the best food he has ever tasted - a fastfood from Estonia. 4. The best cakes in the world from Werner - Britta and Nöhk.

 1. Proovime järgi, kuidas see Eesti õlu ikka mekib.. :) 2. Lumi Viljandimaal, mõnus üllatus hommikul. 3. Kuigi ilm ei olnud just kiita, pakkus loodus meile imelist vaatemängu. 4. Anne Mai puhkab jalga peale AHHAA keskuse vahvat külastust. :)

1. Let's see if estonian beer tasted as good as I remember.. :) 2. Snow! What a nice surprise for morning. 3. Allthough weather wasn't the best, nature offered us a breathtaking view. 4. Anne Mai resting her legs after a wonderful visit at AHHAA sciense center. :)

1. Anete Lauren tädi Mari juures. 2. Hanned põllul - Igor luges mitu praadi võiks sealt saada. 3. Rakvere! Ilm oli väga mossis, kuid hiljem spas tuli päike pilve tagant välja ja pakkus meile ilusat vaadet, samal ajal kui me mullivannis sulistasime. 4. Pihlaka kondiitris, meie võtsime praed ja vaene Anne Mai pidi leppima sefiirikorviga. :)

1. Anete Lauren at our host Mari. 2. Geese on field - Igor was counting how many dinner we could have. 3. At Rakvere, weather looks bad, but later it turned out nice and sunny. 4. Pihlaka confectioner, they have extremely fine tasting goodies.

1. Pihlakast võtsime endaga kaasa sefiiritordi, mis oli jumalikult hea. 2. Jalutuskäik kaunis Tallinna vanalinnas. 3. Hea õde viis mind Revalisse, see on ta lemmikkoht. 4. Lapsed kiikumas tädi Merili maja juures.

1. We took a cake with us from Pihlaka, it's my favorite zephyr cake with bananas. 2. Walk in gorgeous Tallinn old town. 3. My sister took me to her favorite caffee in Tallinn - Reval. 4. Weee, swinging time!

1. Igor nägi esimest korda kajakat väga lähedalt, pidid jube suured elukad olema. 2. Kuulus tuulik teel Tartu. 3. Vana hea EQUA pudel alati meiega kaasas. 4. Selline näeb välja auto teel tagasi Sloveeniasse.

1. Igor saw first time seagull so close, pretty big birdy he said. 2. Famous windmill on Tallinn-Tartu highway. 3. Good old EQUA bottle is always with us. 4. Car was this stuffed on the road back to Slovenia.

1. Esimene öö autos oli ilusti üle elatud ja tegime peatuse Poolas (teel tagasi Sloveeniasse). 2. Anne Mai on maailma muhedaim laps, ta oli terve tee vait nagu sukk ja nohises omaette :D 3. Paarist kraadist 25 kraadini ehk suvi Tšehhis Brnos. 4. Nii mõnus ja soe oli. :)

1. We survived the night in car on way back to Slovenia, first stop in Poland. 2. Anne Mai is the best travel compania, she NEVER complains :D 3. From few degrees to 25 degrees, in Czech Republic, Brno. 4. Gosh how good and warm it was!

1. Mõnusalt vihmane Austria. 2. Vägevad tuulegeneraatorid vihma käes. 3. Anete Lauren tukkumas, no enam ei jõudnud reisi lõppu ära oodata :) 4. Halvematel hetkedel polnud teed näha, sest vihma tuli ikka korralikult.

1. Rainy Austria. 2. Mighty wind generators. 3. Anete Lauren taking a nap, she just couldn't wait for the trip to end. 4. It was raining so hard that sometimes we couldn't see the road at all.

1. Kaunis Austria, peaaegu sama ilus kui Sloveenia :) 2. Peaaegu kodus, palju polnud enam jäänud sõita. 3. Oppaa, 5000 km sai läbitud, palju õnne meile rekordi puhul ja palju õnne meile, et oleme õnnistatud nii rahulike lastega. 4. Kingitused Eestist.

2. Beautiful Austria, almost as pretty as Slovenia :) 2. Almost at home, not much to drive anymore. 3. Wow, we drove 5000 km - grats to us for having such patient kids to go trough this amaxing journey! 4. Gifts from Estonia.

Aitäh, et läbisite meiega teekonna Sloveeniast Eestisse ja tagasi Sloveeniasse, uuel aastal uue hooga. :)
Thanks for taking a trip with us from Slovenia to Estonia and back again to Slovenia, see you again next year. :)

  1. Wohhooo i still can remember as it was yesterday :) All that preparing and checklists we had. Organizing stuff so we wont forget somethings. Late evening start, driving fast at night through Austria, Czech Rep. and then...most part of night/day through massive Poland i thought it would never end...Jaanika sleeping..waking up..are we still in Poland? Yes we are...me sleeping..waking up..same question..Yup, we are still in Poland :D Anete Lauren and Anne Mai taking trip pretty good. Anne Mai was up until midnight looking at stars and looking us passing trucks, while Anete was already sleeping :D Nice country tho, but would not mind faster roads :P 1st mayor stop was around 100km from Lithuania (which we thought will quick to get there) Legs stretching time, felt very good!..Later on as on one picture we can see..highway was under construction and closed. Car was dirty of sand/gravel,dust So we took local road bypass which was longer route. I hope they built that highway fast, so we can save few hrs of local roads full of trucks. Lithuania, Latvia..well could be better cant complain..but constantly 50, 70, 80 speed limiters every 300m on a open long road can really piss you off :D

But at last, day two of trip..ESTONIA, amazing country. Arrived at night, was quite chill as i can remember :) In next days i had so much fun and exploring, meeting your family and friends (hope they like me :D), walking with you and kids around town on sunny day. I liked Tartu very much. Old center is amazing. Lots of historical stuff as well. A snowy morning also! That was a surprise. Since im history freak i took a hike around while Jaanika went out with friends. Toome hill and old town were very nice, few sculptures and monuments of war and my favorite - Kissing students in front of town hall. Did some souvenir shopping :) Jaanika bought me šašlok? (if that is correct word) and omg it was so amazing :D no such thing here. Oh and Kohuke, Ponchik, cakes..delicious!!! Visited AHHAA science center :D I remember me and you went on that pull up tower, and you didnt want to go up all the way :D (it was pretty high). Anete and Anne Mai running around trying all things available hehe. Then at end of week we start going to Tallinn. Gorgeous landscape, forests (clean), fields, green all around, lots of geese and other animals. (too far away to get some dinner :P) Im used to look a lot of hills/mountains i was surprised how flat it is. First time Jaanika told me hight of biggest peak in Estonia i thought she was joking :) :) Nonetheless beautiful and unique..oh almost forgot..Lakes! Many of them! Lakes left and right :D

We stop by in Rakvere spa... i had such a great time there. Relaxing, swimming, fooling around with kids. Anete enjoyed slide very much, and Anne Mai having fun in kids pool or swimming next to us holding her :D After that Jaanika tooks us to Pihlaka..things i ate/tasted there i think i cannot compare to a single thing i can buy here in Slovenia :D Must go there again one day. Tallinn was beauty of a city. Stayed in apartment of her sister. Old town was fully Medieval. Walls, castle, towers, guild houses, amazing view to baltic sea, museums..met my friend seagull there, so far i saw them only on sky but this fellow was standing just 2m away. big bird :P :) We spent whole day there just walking around and enjoying the day on sun. Although sometimes was very windy..brrr :D Time went by so fast i didnt even realize that we have to go back already. Road back was pretty same..driving driving, stop etc. Did longer stop at Brno where we visit friend of ours. Had great time and it was hot! Few hours later we arrived in Ljubljana unpacked and get some well deserved sleep.

I had such an amazing time staying in Estonia. Thanks to you Jaanika, love of my life and my better half, to shove me that beautiful country where i would like to return 100% ;) And to kids who were just amazing! (no complains at all during long drive up/back) :) :* :*
